The Tumblebeez dream became reality in 2000 when Christy Walker opened Beez in a small brick building on Nick Davis Road in Madison. In only its second year of business, additional space was required and utilized in a nearby warehouse.
In the Spring of 2002, with an enrollment of almost 500 students, Christy asked her former high school cheer coach, Madonna Holladay, to go into business with her. Christy and Madonna drew up plans for a new state-of-the-art facility, recruited knowledgeable staff members, and structured a long-term business model to develop the best training program in north Alabama. This program already had success with a Pee Wee 3rd place and Youth 6th place at the 2002 UCA Nationals in Orlando, FL.
In December 2002 Tumblebeez moved into a new 13,000 square foot building, complete with "Tumble Track", large foam pit, two competion-style spring floors (three total floors), spring floor runway, in-ground trampoline, spacious lobby area for parents, retail store, ample locker space, and two acres of parking.
In 2003 Tumblebeez again qualified two squads in the UCA National All-Star Competition in Orlando. These squads, Pee Wee Novice and Pee Wee, finished 6th and 4th place, respectively. The Beez tradition continued to grow!
In 2004 four squads participated in the UCA National Championships. Two squads, Pee Wee and Junior, won National Championships and the other two squads (Mini and Youth) took 2nd place. Also in 2004, nine area middle and high schools trained at Tumblebeez. These nine squads finished in the UCA Top 10 in the nation in their respective divisions, with Sparkman High School and Sparkman Middle School winning National Championships!
In 2005 Tumblebeez once again was represented at UCA National Championships with four squads. The Beez Co-ed squad led the charge with a National Championship! The Pee Wee team once again made Beez proud with a 2nd place finish, with Juniors garnering 4th place and the Youth squad placing 5th. In addition, Sparkman and Austin High Schools won National Championships!
The 2006 UCA National Championships saw Tumblebeez excellence once again, with a Beez record NINE teams represented! There was no denying the strength of the Beez as the Tiny Cheer and Jr. Co-ed squads won National Championships! These great teams were followed closely by a 2nd place finish by the Small Mini team and 3rd place awards for Mini Prep, Mini, and Jr. Preps 2 & 3. The Sr. Co-ed team fought hard for a 5th place finish. School squads once again did well, with Sparkman and Bob Jones High Schools winning it all!
This past season Beez qualified seven teams for UCA Nationals. All squads performed exceptionally well, against increasingly stiff competition. Both the Youth and Jr. Co-ed teams took 2nd, with the Junior squad placing 3rd. All remaining teams finished in the Top 10 in their divisions. Once again Sparkman and Bob Jones both took home the gold!
2007 marked the first year qualifying for Cheersport Nationals in Atlanta. The Beez Senior team captured 1st in a competition that will certainly see more Beez teams in the future!
Currently over 1,000 students attend Tumblebeez, with eight All-Star competition squads. There are also ten area school squads coming to Tumblebeez for cheerleading instruction.
